Ia pridu na Posigelki 'I Go to Gatherings' is a collection of chastushkas, the Russian equivalent of limericks: short, rhyming, humorous, often satirical folk poems. Published by Molodaia Gvardiia (Youth Guard) a literary and political magazine of the Central Committee of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League which over 50 years of operation produced about 800 million volumes. The editor of this work, Nikolai Konstantinovich Starshinov (1924-1988) is well-known for his work on poetry and was for many years editor-in-chief of the poetry section of the publishing house.
